Programs & Initiatives
UCA empowers families of color to become financially self-reliant, promote their physical, emotional, social and spiritual well-being, and increase their capacity to guide and nurture their children.
The UCA model has proved highly effective in meeting the needs of low-income urban children by connecting parents to their children and reconnecting parents and families to their communities. UCA´s program services include:
Core Programs

Youth Diversion Team (YDT)

Intensive Family Preservation (IFP)

CT INCK
Initiatives

Racial Justice Institute (RJI)
A program that was created to lead the advancement of DCF’s racial justice mandate by creating opportunities for training and support to community providers to sustain equity in the delivery of services to children and families throughout the state.

Girls on the Move: Wellness, Strength & Grace
Beyond weekly sessions, girls are invited into shared experiences that deepen connection and identity development, including Poise & Power Tea gatherings, Sister Saturday leadership circles, and the Rooted in Love Retreat. These moments are intentional, creating space for reflection, voice, and belonging.

Fatherhood Engagement Male Involvement Network Collaborative Effort
Community collaborations promoting youth health and wellness (Bronze Tee, Elephant in the Room, Stetson Library,
Inspire Girls, Professional Golf Association of America, N. Haven Job Corps Center)
OUR IMPACT CONTINUES
“While some programs have concluded due to funding cycles, the relationships, trust, and service models developed through
initiatives such as Male Involvement Network (MIN) and VETTS continue to inform our current work and partnerships.”
