Inspire Girls–Girls on the Move: Wellness, Strength & Grace
Urban Community Alliance (UCA) proudly presents Inspire Girls: Girls on the Move, a wellness-centered program designed to support girls ages 5–16 in building confidence, strength, and a healthy sense of self through movement, mentorship, and meaningful connection.
At a time when young girls are navigating complex social, emotional, and environmental pressures, this program creates a structured and affirming space where they can grow not only physically, but emotionally and socially. Inspire Girls is rooted in the belief that wellness is foundational to leadership, identity, and long-term success.
Through a thoughtful balance of wellness education and physical activity, participants engage in a two-phase experience that builds from internal awareness to outward strength. The program begins with guided sessions focused on emotional wellness, confidence-building, and peer connection, then transitions into sports-based learning that reinforces discipline, resilience, and self-expression.
Collaborative Partnerships
A defining strength of Girls on the Move is its collaboration with trusted community partners who bring both expertise and care into the work.
Elephant in the Room Boxing Gym offers a trauma-informed approach to fitness, where boxing becomes more than a sport it becomes a tool for emotional release, discipline, and self-regulation. Through structured training and consistent coaching, participants learn perseverance, control, and confidence in a supportive environment.
Bronze Tee Junior Golf introduces girls to the game of golf as a pathway to focus, patience, and personal growth. Golf instruction emphasizes not only skill development, but also etiquette, sportsmanship, and intergenerational connection—opening doors to new experiences and spaces where girls can see themselves belonging.
Together, these partnerships extend the program beyond traditional recreation, grounding it in skill-building environments that reflect both safety and opportunity.
A Continued Commitment
Inspire Girls & The Justice Education Center
The Inspire Girls initiative is supported through partnership with the Justice Education Center, Inc., aligning UCA’s community-based approach with a broader commitment to youth development and prevention. This collaboration strengthens the program’s ability to deliver structured, high-quality services while maintaining a focus on girls who benefit most from consistent support, guidance, and positive engagement.
Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) :
Connecticut Section Golf Foundation
Urban Community Alliance is proud to partner with the PGA Connecticut Section Golf Foundation, whose support helps expand access to the game of golf for youth in our community. Through this collaboration, the Foundation has invested in our Girls on the Move: Wellness, Strength & Grace program, providing resources that allow girls to build confidence, discipline, and wellness through the game of golf while gaining exposure to new opportunities.
Inspire Girls and PGA reflects UCA’s ongoing commitment to creating spaces where young people feel seen, supported, and capable. It is a program built not just on activities, but on relationships where trust is cultivated, voices are honored, and growth is intentional.
